Should a 40 Year Old Date a 16 Year Old

I recently posted about age gap dating and height differences. The height chart was not necessarily related to age, and it didn't include weight. The age differences were mostly for people that met over the age of 25, which is still controversial but becoming less stigmatic.

The answer is, it depends. Its becoming more accepted for young women to date someone that is much older than them. Normally, when talking about dating a young girl, and the guy is 40 to 50 years old, the younger woman is around 19 to 24. Some of them are prepared for the encounter starting at 16 or 17, but not with any specific person. Its usually because they showed an interest in dating older people, because they are extremly intelligent, or extraordinarly athletic. They might not have someone in their age group that is compatible with them besides height and weight. This is viewed as a decision they will make when they turn 18 anyways.

In most of the U.S., the age of consent is around 16 or 17 and this isn't really well defined. Georgia is specific. They age of consent is 15 with another 15 to 18 year old. California is permissive, its 14 with a 14 to 24 year old if there are no illegal activities. The question is, what if the 14 year old wants to date a 12 year old? What if someone that is 14 to 18, meets someone that is older than 24? This conversation is super interesting in ultra legalistic environments.

Overall, many places don't have a stigma for things that aren't illegal. If the population thinks that something is extremely bad and shouldn't be allowed, then it should be made illegal. If the majority agrees, this is a fairly easy process, and the majority vote will prevail at a fairly high rate. In the range of 60% to 90% for most "controversial" topics". Votes of 51% are more recently considered non votes, they are likely to be repealed, there are too many minority rights to document, and it could end in a riot. These are normally considered eligible for proposal and the vote is required to be 60% plus to be considered eligible for codification.

Scientifically, 12-15, 25-28, and 40-50 are pretty similar for a male. After around 54, its unlikely that males will have another developmental stage, but it might be different. These first three stages are based on growth, physique, and cognitive processing. If, there are later stages, they may be based more on maintaining mental stability, and muscle comfort. We don't know, there isn't enough data and humans have never self studied themselves with this level of detail.

Women are similar but the ages are slighly different, 10-12, 16-17, 23-24, 28-32, and near 40. This will vary slightly by specific gene pool.

Why age gap dating?

Nobody knows. Humans have not developed with a high level of scrutiny for a very long time. There has been documentation on human development for a very long time, but scientists were limited in the amount of data they could collect and with the details that data contained. In some parts of the world, the age to get pregnant with a man of any age is 12 or 15. Overall, this is going to 15 to 25 globally but, there is a concern with 16 to 19 year olds being deprived of a physiological need before they have evolved out of that behavior.

One of the reasons for any type of alternate sexuality is compatibility. Neither of the persons may find a most compatible partner in the standard dating profile for their gene group, culture, or lifestyle. Another reason, which is fairly similar is gene expression. The couple in the alternate sexuality may have more similar gene expression outside of their normal group.

Age has never been documented that well in the past. If a woman had an older partner during childbirth, that is viewed as easily disguised with a platonic boyfriend in her age group, through single motherhood, or by claiming they were a widow and the husband had gone off to war. A lot of birth certificates have the dad listed as "father unknown" and a DNA test can compare the mothers DNA to the babies and figure out the difference, but they are unlikely to pick out the correct dad without having a list of dads to pick from.

Overall, there are rumors that things like this have happened in human history, and have even resulted in families. However, there is little data to point out which specific people on Earth have this type of gene expression, where they seek out age gap dating.

Two final considerations, in a world were people don't carry their birth certificates or id with them at all times. Height and weight may have been a primary factor in determining who to start families with. Some families also do very detailed relationship planning. If the desired gene expressions are in a specific set of people that are divided by time, then they are approached about the request and possible stigma, and it is up to them if they will make that decision or not in helping to evolve the gene pool.

When examining gene expression, its also important to note how the genes change with each generation, and there may be genes that older adults have that are no longer carried in the population. Younger humans may also have new expressions that are not available in gene groups that the older adults would normally start families with.
